Flat plate flange is a type of flange that is a flat mechanical component used to connect pipelines. It has the characteristics of simple structure, convenient manufacturing, and low cost, with a nominal pressure range between 0.25Mpa and 42.0Mpa.
The main characteristics of flat plate flange are light weight and low cost, suitable for pipeline systems with low pressure levels and low requirements for sealing. Its structure is simple and easy to align, so it has been widely used in the connection of medium and low pressure vessels and pipelines. However, the sealing performance of Flat plate flanges is relatively weak, and they are prone to leakage in high temperature and high pressure environments, making them unsuitable for situations that require high sealing performance.
Simple design: without an extended neck, the overall shape is flat and disc-shaped, with a thickness usually smaller than the flange with a neck.
Welding method: using fillet welds (single-sided welding), with a small welding area and fast installation speed.
Diverse materials: available in carbon steel (such as Q235), stainless steel (304/316), alloy steel, etc., suitable for different media environments.
Medium and low pressure fluid transportation
For water pipe connections in plumbing and HVAC systems, the cost-effectiveness is outstanding when the pressure is ≤ 2.5MPa.
Chemical equipment auxiliary pipeline
Used for connecting pipelines with non mainstream processes and low corrosiveness of media.
