1、 Basic structure
The plug-in valve is mainly composed of a valve body, a gate plate, a driving device (such as a handwheel, an electric motor, a cylinder, etc.), and sealing components. 2、 Working principle
Open status:
When the driving device (such as a handwheel, electric motor, or cylinder) drives the gate to rise or translate, the through-hole on the gate completely coincides with the diameter of the pipeline.
At this point, the medium can freely pass through the plug valve, achieving unobstructed flow.
Closed status:
When the driving device drives the gate to descend or translate, the through-hole on the gate gradually deviates from the diameter of the pipeline.
Until the gate completely seals the diameter of the pipeline, the flow of the medium is intercepted, achieving a sealing effect.
3、 Drive mode
There are various driving methods for plug-in valves, including manual, electric, and pneumatic, and the working principles of different driving methods may vary slightly
Manual plug-in valve:
Drive the gate to move by rotating the handwheel or handle.
Suitable for situations that do not require frequent operation, it has the advantages of simple structure and low cost.
Electric plug-in valve:
Drive the gate to lift or translate through an electric motor.
Suitable for occasions that require frequent operation or remote control, it has the characteristics of high automation and convenient operation.
Pneumatic plug valve:
Drive the plug plate to rotate or translate through a cylinder.
Suitable for situations that require rapid response or special working conditions, such as high temperature, high pressure, or corrosive media.
4、 Sealing principle
The sealing performance of the plug valve is one of its key indicators. The sealing principle is mainly based on the tight contact between the gate and the valve seat, as well as the function of the sealing components. When the gate is closed, the sealing components (such as rubber sealing rings) are compressed between the gate and the valve seat, forming an effective sealing barrier to prevent medium leakage.
